Wenjia Sun is a transdisciplinary designer and artist based in Beijing and Taiwan, with education background including the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins (UAL), was a visiting scholar at Carnegie Mellon University. Her work critically engages with the intersections of Material Science, Bio Art & Design, and Speculative Design. Her practice investigates emerging materialities, hybrid ecologies, and posthuman narratives through experimental fabrication processes. By merging scientific methodologies with speculative aesthetics, she challenges conventional boundaries between organic/inorganic systems. Recent projects explore biofabrication ethics, xenomateriality, and decolonial approaches to technoscientific epistemology production.
From 2013 to 2022, she served as a senior academic in the School of Design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing, China.
